The new SSON managed certification® - Shared Services Outsourcing Professional (SSOP) - fills a much-needed gap in the skill level of the current shared services talent pool. “I was extremely pleased to find out that the SSON will be launching a Shared Services & Outsourcing Management Certification program. SSON managed certification®, facts and key points

• The SSON managed certification® will be launched in late Q3 2010 and takes the form of an online learning program
• The certification covers 10 areas our advisory board and members have identified as core skills or competencies
• Each competency will contain approximately 10 modules (including a shared services focus as well as a module with an outsourcing focus)
• Certification is valid for two years from date of certification.
• Successful completion of all e-learning modules in a given competency lead to a final on-line examination. A pass rate of 80% applies to all tests.
• Certification points are also awarded for professional credentials, shown through years of experience, formal education, visibility through presentations/white papers, etc.

In designing this program, SSON has researched skills requirements and core competencies across a range of functions and industries. We have taken advice from some of the leading practitioners in the global marketplace, and are delighted to offer a comprehensive, monitored online program.
